Please not that AKUN is not the only organization supporting the Lindalva Center. At times when the Lindalva Center does not need our support, we will sponsor other desperate Cambodian children to get an education. We will post on our website the details of each of these scholarships.
Barbara and Linda (2 of the co-founders of AKUN) have been personally supporting the Lindalva Center since 2008. They both lived in Asia back then and visited the Center many times. Their latest visit together was in 2013. It is wonderful to see the Center growing into a place that nurtures, educates and gives hope to more than 130 children and also their mothers!
Christine and Linda, 2 of the current Directors of AKUN visited the Lindalva Center in February 2015. Linda, our President, just went again in February 2016 with a new volunteer. There, each time, they witness the happiness of these children and how this Center is transforming their lives by keeping them safe, giving them good food and an education.
Currently, our education opportunities focus on:
- making sure all the children at the Lindalva Centre are sponsored. In 2016, the Centre only needed our help to furnish their new classroom;
- helping 2 schools in Namibia to update their inventory of textbooks, dictionaries and similar books;
- continue to support the Skills Training Program for women and men in Chumkiri
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
In 2017, we want to sponsor unprivileged children to attend schools that will give them a better future. Please help them by making a donation.
Did you know that when you donate money to AKUN, more than 98% goes directly to projects?
All the photos on this website have been taken by volunteers of AKUN or sent by those helping us in the projects. Please do not copy or use any of these photos for any purpose.
2 MEALS A DAY
HOPE FOR THE FUTURE
Thanks to your donations, AKUN helped the Lindalva Centre furnish their new classroom.
We also sent books and dictionaries to 2 schools in Namibia!!!!
We stay in contact with the Lindalva Centre and other trusted people who may recommend to our Board children in need of education. We will assess each case according to our criteria and selection process to decide which children can benefit the most and of which program. When we make decisions on these individuals, we will post the information on this website and our Facebook page. Please visit our website regularly and do not hesitate to ask us questions or send us suggestions! Thank you!
