HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

Barbara and Linda (2 of the co-founders of AKUN) had been personally supporting the Lindalva Center since 2008. They both lived in Asia back then and visited the Center many times. It is wonderful to see the Center growing into a place that nurtures, educates and gives hope to more than 130 children and their mothers! Each time they witnessed the happiness of these children and how this center has transformed their lives by keeping them safe, providing a meal, and an educational program.

The AKUN Board keeps in touch with the Lindalva Centre and assesses any needs when they arise. 

Thanks to your donations AKUN:

• ​helped the Lindalva Centre furnish their new classroom
  
  

• sent books and dictionaries to 2 schools in Namibia
  ​
  
• sponsored 8 students in Cambodia to attend higher education programs that otherwise would have had no opportunity​

• bought backpacks for children at school in Rwanda

 Our current education programs focus on:

​

- Continuing education scholarships for students from poverty stricken areas of Cambodia and other countries.

- Supporting the Skills Training Program for women and men in the Chumkiri province, when needed.

- Supporting a weekly lunch program for children at Mbambazi Primary School in Northern Namibia.
